About
Phoebe Roze is a children’s picture book author and illustrator. Originally from the Scottish Highlands, she now lives and works in Edinburgh. Her colourful, joyful work celebrates the charm of the handmade, bringing atmospheric landscapes together with expressive characters (and wild beasties) inspired by her life in Scotland.

A strong sense of place and playfulness are important elements within her work. Drawing heavily on the landscape, creatures, and stories of where she grew up, Phoebe is always out and about: hiking, cycling and sailing across the highlands and islands with her sketchbook and camera.

After studying Illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, and later an MSc in Modern & Contemporary Art: History, Curating, and Criticism at the University of Edinburgh, Phoebe was selected for a mentorship for emerging illustrators with Picture Hooks.
